Yes to the new association of Entrepreneurs.
The Association of Young Entrepreneurs – Seychelles (AYES) has officially been launched. The aim of the organization is to promote the development of a culture of entrepreneurs among young Seychelles youths. As a collective voice they aim to act on behalf and in the interest of existing young business entrepreneurs.
AYES which was founded in March of this year, is the initiative of Vice President Danny Faure. It was the Vice Presi…dent himself who launched the association’s website at the ceremony which took place at the STC Conference room, Thursday 23rd of July. The association which has 11 committee members currently has 15 young entrepreneurs as members.
The Chairperson of the association Mrs Iouana Pillay has said that the AYES has a few priorities on its list. One of them is to increase its membership. Having members means that the can identify areas for capacity building and from then seek funding for the various programmes. The association already has a calendar of activities therefore its current members are already active and engaged.
AYES has recently applied for CEPS membership. Mrs Pillay has explained that it is vital that this relatively new association made up of young join the platform. “CEPS is established”, she said, “aside from Government support and credibility you have the capacity to work with new NGO’s like AYES. AYES needs to be part of CEPS because CEPS has the connections we need to make it within the civil society sector of Seychelles and beyond. On our own no, together YES!!”
