The Citizens Engagement Platform Seychelles has signed a collaborative agreement with the Eden Bleu Hotel for the organisation of the fourth Volunteers Award. The event also coincided with their 10th anniversaries.
The pledge was signed in a short ceremony at Eden Bleu Hotel yesterday by the newly appointed chairperson of the Citizens Engagement Platform Seychelles (CEPS), Dr. Odile Decomarmond and Rebecca Port-Louis on behalf of Eden Bleu hotel. This was in the presence of CEPS’ chief executive, Alvin Laurence, and representatives from both sides.
In her opening remarks, Ms. Port-Louis expressed her pleasure on behalf of the hotel for renewing and strengthening the partnership with CEPS after a four-year haitus.
“Covid caused a halt in our partnership. However, I think that now we are back on track to appreciate the effort of those who are contributing to better the society,” she stated.
For his part, Mr Laurence said he was grateful for the support provided by the Eden Bleu Hotel to date.
“Today marks the 10th anniversary of the existence of Ceps and that is why when Eden Bleu Hotel proposed this date we made sure to be present because we would also like to show our appreciation. What is even more interesting is that this hotel, which was established 10 years ago, is today one of our key partners,” shared Mr Laurence.
According to him, Eden Bleu has not only been a financial partner but a hands-on collaborative partner, with which Ceps has been able to have many exchanges. “This small ceremony is not enough to represent the 10 years we have shared with Eden Bleu. After three Volunteers Award and the fourth upcoming one, we are proud to say that Eden Bleu is our main partner,” he stated.
This was echoed by the chairperson, Dr Decomarmond, who in her vote of thanks commended the tourism establishment for its ongoing support, stating that such a gesture holds a lot of value for Ceps. “In our society there are not many volunteers and it is one thing to award employees in a workplace but it is also important to show our appreciation to those who volunteer their time, effort and resources for a common goal of making a positive change in our community and our society,” she said
Ceps Volunteers Award will take place next month to coincide with International Volunteer Day on December 5.
