Voting for the 2015 Presidential election is underway in Seychelles.
Six candidates are running for this election. The political parties have had three weeks of campaigning, during which time they met with members of civil society as part of a dialogue to discuss their manifestos.
Citizens Democracy Watch (CDWS) and the Association for Rights, Information & Democracy (ARID), are the two local civil society organisations observing this election; both are accredited members ofCEPS.
International and regional observer missions are also in the Seychelles to observe the election and they include the Commonwealth, African Union, Southern African Development Community (SADC), the Indian Ocean Commission and the Electoral Commission Forum.
Voting will continue tomorrow Friday 04th on the outer islands and on Saturday 05th on the three main islands. Results are expected to be announced late Saturday evening.
Aside from holding the dialogue between the candidates and its members, CEPS has been putting out messages through the media to the general as part of civic education.
